Nadeem Shravan hindi Biography
Overview
Nadeem and Shravan were two of the most prominent music directors in the Hindi film industry in the 1990s. In 1981, they did their first movie 'Maine Jeena Seekh Liya'. Unfortunately, they mostly got projects of B-grade films. Then came three big movies; Ilaka, Hisaab Khoon Ka and Lashkar. Despite being big movies, the music wasn’t appreciated. The music director duo had their first hit with Aashiqui in 1990. The music was immensely popular. They followed it up with super music in films such as Saajan, Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nahin, Sadak, Dilwale and Phool Aur Kaante. All their songs were unique and easily recognized as Nadeem Shravan songs; whether it was 'Chehra kya dekhte ho' (Salaami), 'Adayen bhi hain' (Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin) 'Sochenge Tumhe Pyar' (Deewana) or 'Aaj Raat Chandni Hai' (Kal ki Awaaz). Nadeem-Shravan gave serious competition to the established music directors like Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Anand Milind. They collaborated with several prominent lyricists like Anand Bakshi, Faaiz Anwar, Hasrat Jaipuri, Rani Malik, but their best work was Sameer. Their songs were sung by all the leading with playback singers like Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Vinod Rathod, Kumar Sanu, Anuradha Paudwal and Sonu Nigam. They gave several mega hits. Then Nadeem got implicated in the murder of Gulshan Kumar. Nadeem moved to England and the duo parted ways. After a gap of two-and-a-half years, they made a comeback with the film Yeh Dil Aashiqana. They also worked on Mukesh Bhatt’s 'Qasoor'. They still continue to weave their magic and haven’t let the geographical distance between Mumbai and London hamper their progress in any way.
