Story

Saravanan, a lackadaisical man, finds his life turned upside down when he is accidentally made the local head of a political party. Later, he shamelessly uses his status to woo the girl he loves.

The beaten to death story is all about one more rural Saravanan (Udayanidhi Stalin) who woos his headstrong mora ponnu Thenmozhi ( Regina Cassandra ) by forcing his way into her unwilling (till the very end)heart. The misfired twist here is that the ghost of the hero's former lover Fathima (Shruste Dange) helps him in his highly questionable mission. What happens next is told in a loud fashion with unnecessary crowd of actors crammed into every frame.

Regina Cassandra stands out putting in a sincere effort to make for a convincing Thenmozhi. She is fetching in the sensuous songs, more than manages a few comedy scenes with Soori and is also subtle when possessed by the ghost. Udayanidhi Stalin has already proved that he is adept in comedy as well as playing a serious role like the one in 'Manithan'. In 'SIB' he holds his own against an army of comedians but is let down by lazy writing. Soori with very little help from the script still manages a few laughs here and there with Chaams giving him good company. Seasoned comedians like Yogi Babu, Robo Shankar, Ravi Maria, Madumitha, Manobala and Mansoor Ali Khan have been totally wasted along with a few upcoming ones like Mullai, Kothandam and Quereshi. Super Good Lakshmanan however has his moment during the climax. Shruste Dange's important cameo lacks fizz.

The scenes involving Soori's sufferings in Dubai and his antics with Chaams and the folk dancer work well. The scene in which Shruste inside Regina visits her house for a hearty meal with her parents is touching.
